Fire Trail

Walking through the forest is akin to wandering through a dream. The light filters through the layers of leaves and mist, and is quite dim when it finally reaches you. There is no breeze to flutter the leaves, no movement anywhere. The stillness is starting to unnerve you, and you can only hope that you'll be away form it soon, somewhere a bit less eerie.

Unfortunately, the forest continues on, though you can no longer hear the whir of the whirlwind. Your steps land on the continuous path of green pebbles, bringing you ever-closer towards an un unknown foal… your only hope is that you'll soon come across the land's next inhabitant.

This wish is granted soon enough. A green figure trots towards you along the path, looking rather out of place as he hums to himself.

::Ello,:: he greets you, speaking in your mind. ::How're you?:: He seems oblivious to the eerie surroundings, seemingly accustomed to the somber aura permeating the air. ::Come along!::

You follow the Tyshiri as he veers off the path. The two of you wind through the trees, a tiny procession. Your eyes are glued to the ground as you attempt not to trip over the mist-blanketed roots. When Aedan, as he tells you he is named, stops, you look around and are pleased to see that the rocky area of hill that Aedan resides on is free of the mist and solemn trees. It is a small island though, and beyond it, the mists resume to obscure your view.

You stay for a bit with Aedan, chatting. He's a cheerful creature, and you enjoy his company after so much time spent with nearly no sound, no companionship, no life. After a while, though, you know that it's time to go, as much as you'd prefer to stay. He points the way back to the path. As you glance back once more, you see that he is comfortably reclined, drifting to sleep without worry as the mists close in.
