Hawk leads you farther on, and you notice that a chirping sounds are growing steadiy louder with each tree that you pass.

"If you stay fairly quiet," Hawk says, emphasizing the 'you', "we shall see the birds."

You wonder what sort of birds it is that are making all the noises; it's definitely too loud to be coming from any small winged ones, even a whole group of them.

A flash of color within a ring of trees up ahead causes you to quiet your steps. Hawk leads you to a gap in the trees, and you peer in...




You watch the two birds for a minute. They seem to be involved in some sort of dance, and they move in circular patterns within the clearing, wings flaring and closing, flaring and closing. They don't seem to notice your presence.

After a few moments, Hawk leads you away.
