| You follow Hawk Facing Vicious Storm farther up into the untamed mountain. You attempt not to trip over too many rocks as you struggle after your sure-footed guide. You hope that the safe-point is somewhere close, as you are tired, and want very much to rest. A glance up at the sky tells you that dusk is approaching, and Hawk knows this as well. He picks up the pace, and you valiently try to do the same. Finally, Hawk stops, in a very rocky place, filled with shrubbery. The only visible ground is in small paths and patches; thick underbrush covers the rest of it. One of the paths that weaves around the bushes leads to a rock shelter, and you follow Hawk into it. "We may rest for the night here," your guide says. "You may light the torches, if you wish." He guestures to two torches on opposite walls of the little shelter, and you scramble to get them lit with nearby matches as the darkness closes in. Then, you sink to the floor, your back against the wall, and watch as the stars brighten outside. Soon, however, sounds can be heard from outside. Scramblings, and rustlings in the brush cause your eyes to widen. Hawk, without saying anything, walks forward and disappears into the darkness... after a few seconds, you can hear low voices. Hawk then calls to you, and you venture out. You see two rabbits, but they aren't normal rabbits... |

"Greetings," the copper rabbit says, as it follows Hawk into the shelter and hops over to you. "I am Khari, a Pierra rabbit." He proudly looks at you, puffing out his chest and flaring his wings. "Welcome to the mountain." You introduce yourself. "This," Khari says, "is Junia." He motions towards the brightly colored rabbit flying around. She hovers in front of you. "Greetings, stranger!" She returns to flitting about near Khari. "Stay as long as you need to here, this area is safe. Not a predator for quite a distance," Khari says proudly, grinning. "In any case, have a lovely evening." With that, he hops off into the night, Junia following.
